NEXEN AIR CHAMP CLUTCH APPLICATIONS Clutches for Air Screw Drive Assembly Machine Problem This customer wanted to find a way to enable the operators of their assembly machinery to use both hands and feet for assembly. Product assembled include a piston and rod of an air cylinder, a valve with an operator stem, and other elements which use screws. Motors used in the assembly operation vary from 1/20 hp to 1/4 hp and run at 1800 RPM. Solution A range of Nexen clutches including Micro, BW and F450 models were installed and operate up to 20 cycles per minute. Air pressures are set at given figures which allows the parts to be torqued during the assembly process. The customer has six units in operation and estimates that since the addition of the Nexen units, production has increased by anywhere from 50% to 200%. back to clutch applications page
