PRINCIPLE
The EMP powder reacts to the variation of a magnetic field generated by an electromagnetic coil. Varying the powder's "viscosity" leads to the control of the torque transmission between the primary and the secondary rotors. When the secondary rotor is fixed to the equipment frame, the device is acting as a brake, otherwise it's acting as a clutch.

WEB TENSION CONTROL
The ultrasonic sensor measures the web diameter (without any contact with the product). The controller varies the brakes torque to keep the tension at a constant level.
The tension force is generated by a dancing roller with a closed loop position regulation. The controller ensures that the web tension given by the brake's torque keeps the position stable and constant.

Operating with load cell feedback, the controller continuously corrects the required brake's torque to keep the tension stable and constant. The realtime actual tension measurement value is available to the user.
