T/S1000 Brakes on Cement Block Machine
Problem
In order to quickly settle concrete aggregate in the die box, the customer required 10 vibration cycles per minute. Power is from specially-insulated 10hp, 1800 RPM motors driving weighted, off-balance shafts. DC dynamic braking generated excessive amounts of heat, thereby causing motor burnouts.
Solution
Two Nexen T/S1000 brakes handle the heat generated by this heavy-duty cyclic application. Two mounting torque bolts minimize the load on the motor shaft extension while tapered bushings help prevent key wear and shaft damage.
