Clean Air for Hard-Working Engines

Oblan dynamic pre-cleaners spin dust, dirt, insects, rain and snow out of an engine’s intake air before it reaches the air filter – so filters last longer and the engine breathes clean air on the dustiest sites. Norman G Clark supplies the full Oblan range in Australia, with the elbows, adaptors and hoses to fit them.

How it works

How a Dynamic Pre-Cleaner Works

There are no filters to clog in the pre-cleaner itself – it uses the engine’s own airflow to separate the dirt.

Spin the Dirt Out

Air enters through fixed static vanes that set it spinning. Centrifugal force throws dust, dirt, insects, rain and snow to the outside of the air stream.

Powered by the Airflow

The swirling air turns a high-speed rotor that acts as a blower, pushing the dirt out through discharge ports in the side of the unit. No electrics and no exhaust connection are needed – the pre-cleaner powers and cleans itself.

Clean Air to the Filter

Only cleaned air goes on to the air filter. Oblan pre-cleaners remove up to 90% of the impurities before they reach it, so the filter lasts up to ten times longer. In the C and KL housings the air then passes a primary and a safety element that hold back 99.9% of what is left.
