How it works
Why Drain the Air Tanks?
Water, oil and dirt ruin air systems.
Contamination Builds Up
Compressed air carries water, compressor oil, carbon and rust into the air tanks. No system removes all of it all of the time, and manual petcocks rely on someone pulling the chain.
What It Costs
Left in the tanks it freezes in winter, corrodes cylinders, sticks valves, washes out lubrication and damages brake components – and frozen air brakes stop the vehicle.
Drain Automatically
An Expello valve replaces the petcock and blows the contaminants out with a short, powerful burst – on a timer (electronic) or every time the compressor cycles (pneumatic). Its straight-through design means the valve itself doesn’t collect moisture or debris.
