Why Deublin air & hydraulic unions
Reliable Sealing at Pressure
Balanced Seals
Long life and low turning effort, even at high pressure.
Fits Inside the Shaft
In-the-shaft versions mount in the end of the shaft to save space.
Two Supplies in One
DEU-PLEX unions carry air and hydraulic oil through separate passages.
High Pressure
AP and 7100 Series handle hydraulics to 400 and 250 bar.
How to choose
Four Questions to Pick an Air or Hydraulic Union
Air, Vacuum or Oil?
Each union is rated for certain media – check yours is listed.
What Pressure?
Standard unions to 70 bar; AP to 400 bar; 7100 to 250 bar.
How Fast Does It Turn?
Some unions are for slow or occasional turning (250 rpm); others to 3,500 rpm.
One Supply or Two?
For two separate supplies, choose a DEU-PLEX or a multi-passage union.
How it works
How Air and Hydraulic Unions Work
An air or hydraulic union feeds pressure into a turning shaft – to work a chuck, clamp or clutch – while the shaft keeps turning.
What’s Inside
Ball bearings carry the aluminium housing. A balanced mechanical seal, pressed together by a coil spring, holds the pressure.

Mounted in the Shaft
In-the-shaft unions sit inside a bore in the shaft end, so nothing sticks out. The drawing gives the bore to machine.

Fit the Hoses Right
Use flexible hoses and let them hang free, without twisting or pulling on the union.

A Little Oil for Air
For air service, add 3–5 drops of oil a month through the oiler port to keep the seal lubricated.
Maximum pressure, temperature and speed are the series limits and can’t all be reached at once. Check the catalogue page on each union, or call Norman G Clark before ordering.
