How it works
How a Flame Trap Works
Taking the Heat Out of a Flame
The flame trap’s narrow channels absorb heat from a travelling flame front. That drops the burning gas and air mixture below its auto-ignition temperature, so the flame can’t survive.
The element is a hexagonal crimped ribbon in a steel base; different element and base materials are available.
