How it works
How Schlumpf Handles a Roll
Grip the Core, Not the Roll
A mandrel or probe goes into the core and expands or clamps, so the roll is held from inside – the material isn’t touched. Outside-diameter clamps and cradles are used when the core can’t take the load.
Lift, Turn and Load
The handler lifts the roll, turns it between horizontal and vertical if needed, and pushes it straight onto the machine spindle or a cart. The Smart Schlumpf uses a laser to stop at stored spindle heights automatically.
