How it works
How It Works
Magnets Instead of a Coil
Permanent magnets create the field that binds the magnetic powder, so the limiter transmits torque up to its setting and slips smoothly above it – without wiring or a controller.
Mount it with a non-magnetic flange and flexible couplings either side.
Why Merobel torque limiters
Simple Overload Protection
No Supply
Nothing to wire or control.
Repeatable
Very consistent slip torque and fast response.
Quiet
Smooth, silent slipping.
Long Life
Low wear and no maintenance.
How to choose
How to Size One
Torque
Rated torque must exceed the highest torque the job needs – allow for any gear or belt ratio.
Heat
Slip torque × slip speed is heat. It must stay under the rated power of the version you choose.
Residual Torque
Must be lower than the smallest torque the job needs.
Speed
Keep within the size’s minimum and maximum speed.
