SRP – Planetary Servo-reducer

SRP, a versatile and multi-use solution, is not just another simple planetary gearbox. SRP high-tech planetary reducer is a true integrated concept, including several functions combined together to offer a complete sub-assembly to the most demanding machines.

SRP is the ultimate high-tech servo-reducer, specially dedicated to designs requiring:

KRP – Linear & Rotary Axis Drives

 KRP+ is the ‘KIT’ concept includes output flange mounting and integral output pinion which are dedicated to rack & pinion applications.

KRP+ planetary reducers are the SingleDRIVE components in a family of reducers dedicated to Rack & Pinion and Rotary Table drive applications. They can be used alone as a single drive or combined with a second unit to create a ZERO-BACKLASH linear or rotary Axis.

As A SingleDRIVE, the KRP+ features an integral output pinion and planetary gear train that have been optimized for minimum backlash (1 – 3 arc minutes) and maximum STIFFNESS ON RACK.

DualDRIVE kit combines two KRP+ reducers in a patented, mechanically preloaded ZERO-BACKLASH system. The two units are torsionally preloaded against the rack in this closed loop mechanical system. Only one motor is required to drive the axis.

Two KRP+ reducers can also be combined together in an electrically preloaded TwinDRIVE kit. Backlash is eliminated using two motors, one to drive the axis and one to preload the axis

KRPX – Linear & Rotary Axis Drives

KRPX is a Side Mounted high performance planetary Servo-Reducer, dedicated to Rack & Pinion applications.

The unique KRPX housing is designed to act as a RIGID MACHINE FRAME EXTENSION. The accessible side mounting offers a cost effective, easy to implement, high performance solution for both linear and rotary axis drives.

Two units are combined together with electrical preload (TwinDRIVE) to create an extremely stiff ZERO-BACKLASH axis. The KRPX housing design has been optimized by finite element analysis to avoid deflection during acceleration and heavy loads. Furthermore, the output pinions are machined directly into the output shafts and supported by extra-large, preloaded tapered roller bearings to provide the best balance between transmittable torque and stiffness on the rack.

KRPX exclusive design offers exceptional compound stiffness which dramatically decreases the radial bending (up to 60% of the overall deflection) and to increase the natural frequency of the Rack & Pinion drive system.

By combining two high-tech planetary reducers, KRPX allows perfect mounting on both sides of the machine frame and enables true zero backlash when coupled with an electrical preload system.

DRP – Integrated preloaded Drive

DRP+ DualDRIVE & TwinDRIVE includes monoblock housing for universal mounting. DRP+ planetary gearboxes are the dedicated solution to ZERO-BACKLASH rack & pinion and rotary table drive applications.

They consist of two top quality planetary reducers mounted in parallel inside of a super rigid universal housing. Two integral output pinions engage the rack to allow preloading of the system and maximize the Stiffness on Rack. When choosing the mechanical preload solution, the DRP+ becomes a DualDRIVE unit, which achieves ZERO-BACKLASH by torsionally winding one pinion against the other through the rack. Only one motor is required to drive the axis simplifying motor control.

DRP+ becomes a TwinDRIVE when the Electrical preload solution is applied to cancel the backlash. In this case backlash is eliminated by using two motors; one to drive the axis and one to preload the axis.
