Centrifugal Clutches For Refrigeration Units

Centrifugal clutches and brakes are used when input and output side should be separated during a standstill and the output side should work speed-dependant.

Advantages of centrifugal clutches are load-free starting and slip-free torque transmission at operating speed.

The most important factor for selection of a centrifugal clutch is the amount of
power to be transmitted. Knowing the power available from the drive motor and the operating speed, the torque to be transmitted can be calculated and the size of the clutch determined.
