Why Deublin multi-passage unions

More Done Through One Shaft

Separate Passages

Each supply has its own seals, so media never mix.

Less Pipework

One union replaces several, saving space at the end of the shaft.

Built to Order

Deublin designs special multi-passage unions for each machine.

Soft-Seal Option

Soft-seal unions suit slow or stop-start turning, like indexing tables.

How to choose

Four Questions to Pick a Multi-Passage Union

How Many Supplies?

Count the separate media – each needs its own passage.

What’s in Each One?

List the media and pressure for each passage.

How Does It Turn?

Continuous high speed, slow, or stop-start indexing.

Standard or Special?

Many machines need a made-to-order union – send us the details.

How it works

How Multi-Passage Unions Work

A multi-passage union has a separate passage, with its own seals, for each supply – so oil, air and coolant can all go through one shaft without mixing.

Four Passages

Each passage has its own port. A vent between passages 2 and 3 lets two different media be used without cross-contamination. The drawing shows the shaft end the union fits.

Two Passages

Flange-mounted two-passage unions carry, for example, clamping hydraulics and air through a machine spindle.

Up to Five

Three to five passages, each for air, coolant, oil or a drain.
