Deublin water unions
Cool Rolls and Drums with Water
A rotating union lets water flow from a fixed pipe into a roll or drum while it turns. Deublin water unions do it for years without leaking – from small DN 10 unions up to DN 125.

Why Deublin water unions
Long Life, Low Maintenance
Balanced Seals
The seal faces are balanced so they press together just enough – less wear, less heat.
Sealed for Life
Bearings are lubricated for life, so there’s nothing to grease.
Quick to Service
6000 Series unions have a repair cartridge: swap it and the union is like new.
Stainless Option
54 Series unions are all stainless steel, for coolant and corrosive water.

How to choose
Four Questions to Pick a Water Union
One Way or in and Out?
A monoflow union sends water one way. A duoflow union sends it in and brings it back out through the same union, using an inner pipe.
What Size?
Match the union size (DN) to the flow the roll needs and the thread or flange on the roll.
Which Thread Hand?
Choose the hand so the union tightens, not loosens, as the roll turns. If you’re unsure, ask us.
How Hard Will It Work?
Check pressure, temperature and speed against the union’s limits – they can’t all be at their maximum at once.
How it works
How Rotating Unions Work
A rotating union joins a fixed pipe to a turning roll. The rotor turns with the roll, the housing stays still, and a pair of seal faces between them keeps the water in.
What’s Inside
Ball bearings carry the housing on the rotor, and a spring presses the floating seal against the rotor seal. In a duoflow union, a pipe inside carries water in and it comes back out around it.

One Way, or in and Out
For duoflow, a supply pipe runs through the union into the roll. Long pipes need support, and above 1,000 rpm a divided pipe is used.

Easy to Service
A seal kit renews the parts that wear – rotor seal, floating seal ring, spring and O-ring – so the union goes back to work.

Fit the Hoses Right
Always connect a union with flexible hoses, never rigid pipe, and let them hang without twisting or pulling. A tight hose pushes on the bearings and seals and shortens their life.

Maximum pressure, temperature and speed are the series limits and can’t all be reached at once. Check the catalogue page on each union, or call Norman G Clark before ordering.
